Foreign visitors will need a visa. If your stay does not exceed 30 days and includes only a single entry into Vietnam, you can get an e-visa here. The e-visa process is entirely online, takes ~3 days to process, and costs $25.
We recommend paying with a credit card with no foreign transaction fee. In your application, take caution when filling out the dates (DD/MM/YYYY vs MM/DD/YYYY format).

💡 Tips from Jason Miller:
- For my photo, I took a selfie that was similar to a style you would get for a passport.
- I used the date I was arriving in Vietnam Dec 14, 2022 as my intended date of entry. That being said, I’m technically leaving the US on the 13th, so I could have put the 13th if I wanted to be extra careful I guess, but Delta has assured me this isn’t an issue.
- For length of stay and evisa valid from/to, I kept it as the default 30 days even though I won’t be staying that long.
- I used Trang’s father’s address as my Intended temporary residential address in Viet Nam since I didn’t have my hotels reserved when I applied.
- I submitted my application on Oct 12th and only after using the link to check (no email notification) did I see that my visa was approved on the 18th, so it shouldn’t take very long overall.
Hope this is helpful!
